Currently running to be the Democratic candidate in Maine House District 38 passionate activist, and all people’s advocate, Barb Wood.

This intelligent, caring, and brave woman was the first LGBTQ+ person elected to public office in Portland – at a time when it was very dangerous to be an out gay person in Maine.

Our district has not been represented by a woman since 1986, and it’s time for a change. I propose we elect Barb, who responded to the murder of gay man Charlie Howard by co-founding an organization that became Equality Maine, and to this day continues her defense and care of our community.

Recently retired from senior management at L.L. Bean, Barb’s established record of caring respect for her immigrant employees is also reassuring at this immensely difficult time in our history.

Please join me in voting for Barb Wood.
