In my mind, the reasons to keep public notices in print are based on accessibility.
In a state like Maine it is unfair to assume access to or regular use of the internet.
A law to give exclusive access to a public good on only a website smacks of ageism (the demographic of elders who depend on print only), classism (the poor, the rural) and perhaps even racism if the immigrant population of Portland is any example.
