Portland city councilors agreed to send the proposed school budget of $143.9 million to voters, which represents nearly a 6 percent increase on the school side of the budget.
After voting to confirm longtime interim city manager Danielle West as the permanent chief administrator, Portland councilors approved the school budget. The budget will appear before voters on the June 13 election.
Mayor Kate Snyder postponed discussion of the municipal budget. There will be a public comment opportunity on June 5.
