Kudos for using photographer Jim Neuger. His cover photos and interior images are more and more compelling each week.
As a photographer at the late, great Maine Times (1996-2000-ish,) I routinely and subconsciously critique photos in newspapers and I have to say that Neuger’s images make me want to pick up and read the attendant article.
Of course, what is printed is entirely dependent on the keen eye of the photo editor. In my case it was Doug Rooks, whom I’m pleased to see is writing for the Phoenix.
Significant imagery comes from a symbiotic relationship: good images selected by a discerning editor.
Great job. Keep it up.
