Your Viewpoint: Pringle ‘thorough, accurate, and specific’

The “progressive” members of the Portland Charter Commission will probably be both angry and defensive after being called out by Anne Pringle, one of Portland’s most thoughtful and experienced leaders. Pringle, a former mayor, was thorough, accurate, and specific in her observations in the March 16 Portland Phoenix (“Another Viewpoint: What’s going on with the Portland Charter Commission?“).

She wrote that the work of the commission, which she calls chaotic and confusing, has been neither accessible nor transparent. The irony in this is obvious. The commissioners should take a moment to reflect on the complaints of one of Portland’s most respected civic leaders and try to improve.
